On the other side I imagine that Audirvana was pretty good even before the release of the latest version as most of its users were quite satisfied with it.īut what's beyond my comprehension is how can you judge that the improvements of this Audirvana release exceed the improvements of an excellent digital room correction like Dirac Live up to the point of renouncing it. so I'll be pleased if Damien will cohoperate with Dirac Research in solving that issue as well as I think that a plugin could be eventually available in the future. Now I understand that the latest Audirvana version has problems in direct mode. I'm not a Mac user but as far as I know Audirvana (as all other players that are pretty good also) could be used with Dirac Live up to now. if there is anything else we could do such as work together to ensure a better compatibility, we would gladly have that discussion. This could be interesting in the future, as of now we have to focus on some vital improvements of the exisiting products but. I think we have had some contact with Damien before and he wanted us to make a VST plug-in. Dirac should view us as potential customers. If Dirac appeared first, I might agree that it is Audirvana's problem, but at this point probably far more of us have invested in Audirvana than in Dirac. If Audirvana, which I own, worked with Dirac, which I don't own, I would buy Dirac's software. Ideally, what would be great is if both parties recognized it was to their mutual advantage to work together to allow straightforward integration. Since neither is open-source, there is no way for us, the consumers who want the best of both, to know. This probably requires one or the other, or perhaps both, to make some changes in their code. More succinctly: "If BitPerfect can use Dirac in iTunes integrated mode, Audirvana should be able to do the same." The language is a problem but unless Audissey has made recent drastic changes to their algorithms the graphs speak for themselves (post #7) Audissey XT32, the graphs show the response without correction first, and then the response with Dirac Live correction and the response with Audissey correction here: The following is a link to a completely indipendent test of Dirac Live vs. Now Audirvana Plus is compatible in direct mode with other applications like ARC, which uses the Audissey XT32 technology. Let me explain why I'm saying this from my partial point of viewĪn excellent Digital Room Correction allows for actual and measurable improvements that in my opinion are by far larger than improvements by different players (or player modes in Audirvana case).īecause of that I believe it is important to select the best possible digital room correction solution. "Audirvana, compatible with Dirac Live room correction?" The title of this thread is "Dirac room correction, compatible with Audirvana?" but it could be seen the other way.
